It Begins With You

Birth Doula Support

Empowering birth support that is backed with knowledge, compassion, and advocacy

It all begins with you. This birth journey is yours to write, and I applaud your courage for saying “yes” to this role. As your dedicated birth doula, my commitment is to amplify your voice, preferences, and wishes, ensuring that your unique story unfolds with empowerment, knowledge, and unwavering support. Together, let's embark on this transformative journey, where your choices are honored, and your experience is celebrated.

My Birth Commitment

As a mother: I understand the transformative journey of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum stage. I am dedicated to provide my family’s with continuous emotional and physical support as you prepare for the arrival of your new sweet soul.

As a professionally trained birth and postpartum doula, I am here to listen and understand your birth wishes and match that with the correct labor and birth coping tools, movements and techniques for you to work towards your dream birth.

I firmly uphold the belief that there is no singular "right" way to bring your baby into the world. It is a deeply personal choice, and I wholeheartedly affirm that the decision rests entirely with the mother. Whatever path you decide to take, know that I am here to fully support you. Your choices are valid, and I am honored to be a part of your journey, offering guidance and understanding every step of the way.

Continuous Emotional Support

A birth doula is your steadfast companion, offering reassurance, encouragement, and a calming presence during the changes and intensity of childbirth.

Evidence-Based Information and Education

I believe in empowering expectant parents with evidence-based information about pregnancy, labor, and childbirth. As your doula I assist you in understanding your options, making informed decisions, and advocating for your preferences during the birthing process.

Physical Comfort Measures

I will provide continuous physical comfort measures, utilizing various techniques and tools such as breathing exercises, acupressure, relaxation techniques, massage, and specialized tools like the birth ball, peanut ball, birth bar, birth sling, and Rebozo.

Continuous Presence

I am by your side when the signs of labor start, joining you at your chosen birthing location and remaining by your side throughout labor, birth, and at least an hour postpartum. My attention and focus is on you

Support for Birth Partners

I extend my support to birth partners, ensuring their involvement and providing guidance on how they can best support the birthing person. My collaborative approach creates a positive and supportive environment.

Collaboration with Healthcare Team

While not providing medical care, a doula collaborates with your healthcare clinician and birth team, facilitating communication and ensuring your preferences and values are respected.

  • Curious about the benifits of hiring a doula?

  • Reduced Labor Duration

Doulas provide emotional and physical support, which has been associated with shorter labor durations.

  • Decreased Cesarean Rates

Women supported by doulas often experience lower rates of cesarean sections, possibly due to the continuous support and advocacy they receive.

  • Pain Management

Doulas assist with pain management techniques, such as breathing exercises, massage, and positioning, contributing to a more comfortable labor experience.

  • Lower Epidural Usage (If Desired)

Some studies indicate that women supported by doulas may be less likely to request less pain medication which reduces the use of epidurals

  • Improved Communication & Advocay

“Doulas are trained to help families connect with evidence-based resources so they can ask great questions and make informed decisions about their births. Doulas serve as a bridge of communication between their client and their providers, lifting them up to help them find their voices and advocate for the very best care.” - DONA International

  • Reduced Stress and Anxiety

Emotional support provided by doulas can contribute to reduced stress and anxiety levels during labor, potentially leading to a more positive birth experience.

  • Enhanced Breastfeeding Success

Doulas often provide postpartum support, aiding in breastfeeding initiation and addressing concerns, which can positively impact long-term health benefits for both the birthing person and the baby.
